INTERIOR DESIGN & BUILD SHOW UNIT MAI HOUSE

The Mai House store design is a renovation and fit-out project for a fashion and accessories brand that embraces a feminine, modern, and refined style. Positioned in the mid-to-high-end segment, the retail space is not only a place to display products but also a medium for conveying the brand’s spirit and creating an emotionally engaging shopping experience for customers.

PROBLEMS WHEN designing show unit Mai House

In the Mai House project, the model home design goes beyond simply showcasing interior furnishings and instead serves to convey a lifestyle message—refined, balanced, and closely connected to nature. The first challenge came from the actual space, which faced limitations in both area and fixed structural conditions, while the design was required to deliver a sense of spaciousness, luxury, and comfort comparable to a high-end villa. A tight implementation timeline also posed significant pressure, as the entire process—from concept development to construction completion—had to remain cohesive, precise, and emotionally engaging.

Design proposals for each category

Co-IDB proposed an interior design solution for the store in the Modern Soft style—modern, refined, and subtly feminine. The primary color palette features creamy white, beige, and light wood brown, creating a neutral backdrop that highlights the products.

Key Design Highlights

1. Façade – Clear Brand Identity

The storefront signage is minimalist, featuring raised metallic lettering in a bronze finish against a matte white background. A transparent glass façade with slim frames showcases mannequins highlighting the latest collection. Ceiling-mounted spotlights create immediate visual attraction from the outside.

2. Main Display Area – Open, Organized, and Refined

Parallel double hanging racks are arranged lengthwise, combined with built-in display shelving. Accessory display cabinets feature glass fronts with integrated LED edge lighting. Wall surfaces are finished with wood panels and softly rounded frames, creating a sense of elegance that feels both luxurious and approachable.

3. Fitting Rooms – Private & Soft

The fitting rooms are designed in a modular layout with beige fabric curtains, large mirrors, and upholstered waiting chairs. Nearby, full-length standing mirrors allow customers to easily view complete outfits. Lighting is set to a soft warm tone, enhancing skin tones without harsh glare.

4. Cashier & Storage Area – Neat and Cohesive

The cashier counter is kept low-profile, with a white stone countertop and an embossed logo on the wall behind. Integrated storage cabinets with locks and well-organized compartments are placed behind the counter. POS equipment, bag racks, boxes, and packaging materials are arranged logically for smooth daily operations.
