PROBLEMS WHEN designing Kim Funding Office

The Quy Kim office project was implemented on the 6th floor of The Mett Building—one of the most premium and modern office towers in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The initial layout was a completely open shell, with no ceilings, partitions, or defined zones. This provided an opportunity for CO-IDB to fully demonstrate its expertise in space planning, technical coordination, and end-to-end spatial creation from the ground up, while also presenting the challenge of aligning the overall design with Quy Kim’s brand positioning: professional and well-structured, yet warm and human-centric.

Design proposals for each category

The space was clearly reconfigured into four main zones: the open working area, meeting rooms, a relaxation pantry, and the reception area. The design employs a neutral color palette (white, gray, and light wood), creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Materials such as steel-framed glass partitions, moisture-resistant laminate, and mesh blinds for light control enhance professionalism while ensuring ease of maintenance.

Key Design Highlights

1. Reception Area – Welcoming Visitors

The reception area is designed with a minimalist and well-organized approach. The reception desk is finished in light wood-grain engineered panels combined with an engineered stone countertop. The brand logo is prominently displayed on a gray concrete-textured wall, while accent spotlights add emphasis—creating a professional and trustworthy first impression.

2. Open Workspace

The open working area features modular desks arranged for 4–6 people, separated by low-height acoustic fabric partitions. Wall-aligned storage cabinets integrate both decorative elements and document storage. Ergonomic mesh-back chairs offer flexible adjustment. Lighting combines recessed LED fixtures with abundant natural light from large windows, helping reduce energy consumption and enhance work performance.

3. Meeting Room

The meeting room interior is simple yet refined. The meeting table features steel legs with a scratch-resistant laminate wood top. White-painted walls are accented with a glass writing board and focused spot lighting. Glass doors with pull-down blinds allow for light control and privacy when needed. Built-in audio systems and projectors ensure a clean and uncluttered setup.

4. Pantry & Relaxation Area

This compact yet cozy relaxation space includes built-in cabinetry, a coffee machine, a mini refrigerator, and a light-wood table-and-chair set, providing employees with a comfortable break area. Inspirational quote artwork and greenery add a warm, calming touch.

5. Storage & Technical Areas

Functional zones such as the server room and storage areas are finished with moisture-resistant, easy-to-clean materials. The design is kept minimal while ensuring convenience for daily operations and long-term maintenance.
