PROBLEMS WHEN Apave office design

Apave – an international firm specializing in technical services and risk management—sought to develop a new 187-square-meter office in Ho Chi Minh City. The objective was not only to optimize operational functions but also to create a modern, flexible space that clearly reflects their brand identity. CO-IDB was selected as the Design & Build partner, accompanying Apave from the initial concept phase through to final completion.

Design proposals for each category

Co-IDB proposed a Modern Minimalist interior design solution, utilizing a neutral palette of white, grey, and navy blue. The design integrates industrial materials such as melamine-faced wood, powder-coated finishes, frosted glass, and acoustic fabric to create a cohesive and professional environment.

The space is organized as an open-plan model, prioritizing connectivity and functional flexibility. CO-IDB arranged an airy central workspace, subtly partitioned from functional zones such as the reception lounge, meeting rooms, relaxation areas, and the pantry. In the meeting rooms, transparent glass partitions are utilized to expand the visual field and allow natural light to flow throughout the office.

1. Open Workspace – Focused & Airy

This area features long workstation clusters for 4–6 people, equipped with charcoal blue acoustic fabric partitions. Personnel are provided with ergonomic chairs and individual locker units positioned behind the seating. The floor is covered with noise-reducing carpet, while uniform white overhead lighting helps reduce eye strain during long working hours.

2. Meeting Room – Simple yet Professional

The room is centered around a long rectangular meeting table with a scratch-resistant laminate top and powder-coated steel legs. It is paired with mesh cantilever chairs and a neutral warm LED lighting system. The light grey walls, featuring the corporate logo as a focal point, are equipped with a wall-mounted screen for seamless online connectivity.

3. Pantry – Mid-day Relaxation

The compact pantry area includes a bar counter with high stools, a built-in refrigerator, a coffee machine, and dry storage cabinets. Wood-paneled walls and inspirational slogan artwork create an inviting atmosphere. Soft warm lighting and small round tables offer a perfect spot for staff to relax and chat.

4. Reception Area – Friendly & Sophisticated

The lounge features modular grey fabric sofas paired with circular black metal-legged coffee tables. A display wall showcases the firm’s signature projects. The design is understated yet meticulous, perfectly reflecting the spirit of a technical consultancy firm.

5. Storage Area – Organized & Accessible

Floor-to-ceiling filing cabinets are either built into the walls or hidden behind wooden slats to keep the space looking clean and tidy. Cabinet modules are categorized by document type and equipped with either magnetic locks or soft-push mechanisms.
