INTERIOR DESIGN WOORI BANK OFFICE

The Woori Bank office interior design project was implemented at the central branch of the bank – which not only undertakes the daily financial operations, but is also the direct contact point between the brand and customers. The goal of the project is to reshape the workspace, so that it is both modern – secure – optimizes performance, while expressing the identity of a Korean bank with a long tradition and a technology orientation.

Problems when Woori Bank office design

The current space is fragmented: the old premises are fragmented, not creating connections between departments, causing inconvenience in operation. High requirements for security and banking standards, but still need to have flexible transaction service spaces with customers. The brand is not clearly expressed through the physical space, while Woori Bank wants to strengthen brand recognition from the experience at the branch. Urgent implementation progress: the bank needs to construct and put into operation according to a fixed time frame, without interrupting existing activities.

Design proposals for each category

In the Woori Bank project, the design solution focuses on restructuring the floor plan in an open, efficient and professional way. The space is reorganized with a clear traffic axis, connecting the reception area – transaction counter – internal working space, while still ensuring a safe separation between the customer area and the human resources area. The design language uses simple shapes and strong straight lines to evoke a sense of stability – a characteristic of the financial industry. To balance the emotions, the slightly curved details in the waiting area and reception counter make the space more intimate and accessible.

Interior design

Problem – Outstanding floor plan & design solution

The Woori Bank office project poses a multi-dimensional problem: ensuring strict operating standards of the banking industry, while reorganizing the floor plan to increase operational efficiency and customer experience. The current floor plan is rigidly separated, lacking connections between departments, making information circulation and guest reception suboptimal.

The proposed design solution is to reorganize the space layout according to a coherent traffic axis – starting from the reception desk, going through the transaction lobby and ending at the internal working areas. The flow of customers and employees is calculated separately but still easy to control. The space is visually expanded through the use of glass walls, open layout and clear visual accents, creating a neat, prestigious and brand-rich space.

Colors – Materials – Brand accents

The main color tone of the project is navy blue – white – light gray, chosen based on Woori Bank’s global brand identity. Navy blue symbolizes trust and stability; white and grey create a bright, modern yet elegant space.

The materials used focus on sustainability, safety and ease of maintenance: frosted glass creates privacy without being stuffy, engineered wood covered with moisture-resistant veneer ensures long-term durability, and anti-slip vinyl or granite flooring in high-traffic areas. Brand accents such as illuminated logos in the lobby, graphic identity wall panels, custom-designed signage and cleverly integrated directional lighting systems – both increase recognition and create a coherent space guide.
