Co-IDB's Southside Coffeeshop Design Project
Southside Coffee Shop, located in the city, partnered with Co-IDB to create a unique and impressive space. With proven expertise in office interior construction, Co-IDB designed a minimalist, modern space that exudes luxury and sophistication, without overwhelming customers with intricate, elaborate details.
Client Requirements
Located at Phuong Nam Building on Vo Thi Sau Street, Surtec Office has a total area of more than 230 m2. However, the current office layout makes the space look small and narrow. In the office, there is also a lack of trees that make the office somewhat stuffy.
The existing ceiling-floor fit-out is also severely degraded. The tight plaster walls make the office look very small.
In addition, this customer needs a lot of records, but the current number of cabinets is not enough to meet the needs of use. File cabinets using transparent glass make the overall look messy and unsightly.
The whole office has only 1 small corner (left corner of the current picture) is the dining and printing area for employees. With the number of more than 20 employees, it is not enough to use.
The Co-IDB team developed a design perfectly suited to the tube-shaped layout.
In response to the client's request, the Co-IDB team began by conducting a thorough site survey and brainstorming design ideas for the coffee shop. The long and narrow layout posed a design challenge but also opened up an opportunity for Co-IDB to transform the space into a work of art. With years of experience in office interior design, Co-IDB skillfully addressed the layout’s limitations, laying the foundation for a space that perfectly aligns with the client's vision.

Design Overview
Through the time of discussion, research and proposal with the Client, the Co-IDB design team has turned Surtec into a modern office, bearing the typical colors of the Surtec Brand. The office has two main colors, White and accents on some walls, details in Blue. Co-IDB has added tree drawers in the staff's desk complexes to add vitality to the office, creating a comfortable feeling when working.
Co-IDB also proposed demolishing the drywall and replacing it with glass walls and decorating with decals cut with the Brand Name.
Within the customer's budget, Co-IDB also reused some interior parts such as chairs, tables, cabinets,...
The highlight of this new design must be the Pantry, the circular dining table and the flower-like chairs stand out in the middle of the space. Co-IDB also designed a high table close to the glass to take advantage of the view overlooking the streets of Saigon. The row of trees hanging down from the ceiling is also a beautiful corner for the whole space.

Entrance
In office interior construction, the first touchpoint for clients is often the reception desk, but for Southside Coffee Shop and similar cafés, it's the storefront. The exterior must align with the overall style and stand out enough to make a strong first impression. Co-IDB chose rectangles and squares as the central design concept for this area. The high-ceiling façade features a large, clean rectangle, with smaller insulated glass rectangles inside. This allows natural light to brighten the space without creating a stifling atmosphere.

The first impression of Southside Coffee Shop is its sleek, minimalist design, defined by sharp lines and simplicity.

The small group seating area is placed just behind the entrance. With two large glass windows at the front and above, this is the sunniest spot in the café. This seating cluster is filled with energy and inspiration, offering customers a refreshing and clear-headed space for productive work.

Quầy cà phê
Centrally located, the coffee counter warmly welcomes guests seeking the true essence of coffee. Featuring a modern minimalist design with rectangular shapes, the counter highlights sharp lines while embracing the 'less is more' principle. Its neutral beige and white tones, paired with wood and tile materials, create a serene atmosphere. In this space, baristas are free to showcase their brewing skills under well-placed lighting, while engaging with customers seated at the counter, sharing their knowledge of coffee.

Khu vực cho khách nhóm lớn là với bàn dài bàn dài và ghế gỗ. Đây là không gian thể hiện cực kỳ rõ nét ngôn ngữ thiết kế nội thất của phong cách hiện đại tối giản mà Co-IDB lựa chọn. Hình chữ nhật và hình vuông được sử dụng xuyên suốt quán, cũng xuất hiện ở khu vực này. Khi nhìn vào mặt bàn cũng như tường, khách hàng có thể thấy rõ những họa tiết này tạo nên sự hài hòa với tổng thể.
